Gareth Gill | board member
Gareth Duncan Gill is a longtime supporter of the National Center for Lesbian Rights, dating back to when the organization was known as the Lesbian Rights Project.
He has been with his spouse, Julie, for over 32 years. With the help of LRP/NCLR, they obtained relationship protection legal documents in their early twenties. They had a commitment ceremony at the First Unitarian Church of San Jose for their 20th Anniversary in 2000, were married in San Francisco on Valentine’s Day 2004 and were finally legally married on June 17, 2008.
Gareth is a licensed Civil Engineer, having received a B.S. from Cornell University. He worked for Caltrans for almost 20 years and currently works for Vali Cooper & Associates, a construction management and inspection services firm. He transitioned from female to male in 2010 when he legally took Julie’s last name. They currently live in Santa Cruz, with their 2 dogs, 1 cat and 5 koi.
