The National Center for Lesbian Rights Offers Coveted Prizes At 30th Anniversary Gala Live Auction
(San Francisco, CA, April 27, 2007) — In celebration of 30 years of pioneering lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) civil rights work, the National Center for Lesbian Rights (NCLR) will offer a range of prizes at its annual gala's inaugural live auction. The ever-witty comedienne Kate Clinton returns to emcee the event, regarded as the largest gathering of lesbian philanthropists in the country. The Gala will take place on Saturday, May 12, 2007, at Fort Mason.
Auction items include:
- A two-week stay at the Rumah Cinta House in Bali,
- A private dinner prepared by nationally-renowned pastry chef Elizabeth Falkner of San Francisco's Citizen Cake,
- Olivia's Under the Tahitian Sun Cruise to French Polynesia, and
- A Piaggio Typhoon scooter.
The 30th Anniversary Gala, held at San Francisco's Fort Mason Festival Pavilion, is NCLR's opportunity to honor leaders and activists in the LGBT and social justice movements. This year, on May 12, 2007, 3,000 LGBT supporters and allies, corporate and community partners, and major donors will gather to celebrate NCLR's 30 years of accomplishments and to recognize the past three decades of life- and law-changing work. Festivities begin at 7pm.
National Presenting Sponsors of the Gala include Rainbow Card and Olivia. Gold Presenting Sponsors include: AAA Travel, Heller Ehrman, LLP, Merrill Lynch's Private Banking and Investment Group, and Wells Fargo. Silver Sponsors include Orrick and Wolfe Video.
